Economic Development Sedalia-Pettis County joined officials from Jake’s Creative Woodworks, Inc. to celebrate the announcement of an expansion for the company located south of Smithton.
Jake’s Creative Woodworks, Inc., of Smithton, Missouri, is planning a $300,000 expansion to their existing facility. The expansion will include a 9,000 square foot addition to the existing facility. This expansion will bring their total square footage to 19,300 square foot.
In addition to the 8 employees currently employed at the facility, Jake’s is expected to hire 6 additional employees 32805 Ringen School Road, Smithton, Pettis County, Missouri.
Jake’s Creative Woodworks began their operations in 2003. Jake’s is a premier residential and commercial custom woodworking business. Their skilled craftsmen create state of the art products, specializing in kitchens, kitchen islands, bathrooms, custom built cabinetry, and woodworking.
“Since the first 2,400 square foot facility we have had 4 expansions. Each time we didn’t think we would outgrow that facility and need to expand it. It is a nice problem to have,” stated Jake Gieschen, owner. “We love to grow our business and this is a great place to do so,” added Gieschen.
“We are pleased to, once again, have this growth from one of our companies,” said Economic Development Board President Rusty Kahrs. “Our existing companies will continue to be the foundation of our community.”
“The expansion of Jake’s Creative Woodworks, Inc. is a tremendous addition to Pettis County,” said Presiding Commissioner John Meehan. “A company of this type requires craftsmen who are artists in their trade. The growth we are experiencing in our Pettis County manufacturing sector is wonderful.”
Economic Development Sedalia-Pettis County, the City of Smithton, and Pettis County officials partnered with Jake’s Creative Woodworks to make its expansion possible.
