We participate with the State Fair Parade held opening day of the State Fair.  All manufacturers are invited to construct a display of the product they manufacture at the local plant.  These are placed on flatbeds and hauled by Ditzfeld Transfer.  This is a great opportunity for us to showcase our manufacturers, show the cooperation of the companies working together.

The Sedalia Showcase is an event which is held to coincide with the Missouri State Fair on the day of the Governor’s Ham Breakfast and Legislators Day.

The Sedalia Showcase begins at the Governor’s Ham Breakfast.  We host our guests in a “FAM” tour setting (state officials from the Missouri Department of Economic Development, consultants from across the United States, and other dignitaries) throughout the event to bring a familiarization of our community, our attributes, and available properties in Pettis County.  We provide rooms at the historic Bothwell Hotel.  Each guest receives Pettis County gifts which are personalized.

Our guests are then transported to the Governor’s Ham Breakfast on a chartered bus.  After the breakfast we take our guests on a Familiarization “FAM” Tour, which is an in-depth community tour, showcasing our manufacturers, what products they produce, our available industrial land and buildings, our education sector, health care sector, city and county government and other amenities.  We provide each guest with a binder listing current area data to enable them to have this to refer to when they have prospective clients.

Our noon luncheon and tours is held at a very specific site and sets the theme for the Showcase.  The Noon luncheon event has been held at the following:  2005-Duke manufacturing for their new facility; 2006-Ribbon cutting at Empire Gas and ProEnergy at their first facility; 2007- Ground Breaking/Ribbon Cutting for the new Sedalia 200 High School and the 75th  anniversary of Inter-State Studio; 2008- Ground Breaking of the Center For Human Services Roger Garlich Center and the announcement by WireCo World Group of their major expansion; 2009- ProEnergy open house and Corporate Headquarters Complex Ribbon Cutting and open house, Announcement of the relocation of the WireCo WorldGroup Distribution Center from Chicago, and a Ribbon Cutting for Furnell Assisted Living complex in downtown Sedalia; 2010-50th year anniversary celebration at Ditzfeld Transfer; 2011- featuring Health care throughout the day with the noon event a Ribbon Cutting and open house at the Bothwell Regional Health Care Healing Arts Center; 2012 – featuring Education throughout the day with the noon event an open house at the Sedalia 200 High School; 2013 – Maxion Manufacturing with an International Theme celebrating their 35 years in Sedalia.

Following the luncheon and day tours, we proceed to the Missouri State Fair for dinner and festivities under the Tent where we focus on our manufacturers and thank them for having their company in Pettis County.  This is also an opportunity for the Partners to network with the company officials.  We have manufacturer products at the tent, serve dinner and beverages.
