2019 Manufacturer’s Milestone Banquet Recap

EDSPC StaffEDSPC News

Hello, everyone! Happy Halloween! If you have little ones, please stay safe and warm tonight! We hope everyone has had a great week–we’ve almost made it to the weekend! When we host events, it fills our cups seeing everyone come together to celebrate—ultimately, we couldn’t do it without our attendees, sponsors, board of directors, and host sites that happily take in each crowd we generate. As some of you may know, on Thursday, October 24th, we held our 15th Annual Manufacturer’s Milestone Banquet. For those of you that are unaware, each year, we recognize businesses in Sedalia-Pettis County on each 5-year milestone they reach. Without further ado, we’d like to highlight everyone that came together to make our recognition banquet a success.

Our team wants to send a big thank you to those companies that partnered with us and sponsored a table: ArcBest, Bothwell Regional Health Center, Callis Integrated Marketing, Central Bank of Sedalia, CSC Construction Group, Custom Communications, Ditzfeld Transfer, Evergy, Insurance and Benefits Group (IBG), Kusgen Construction, Marcum Landscaping & Hauling, McCarthy Toyota Auto Group, Missouri Bank II, Sedalia Pettis County Community Service Corporation, Septagon, Socket, Starline, Thompson Hills Investment Corporation, Viebrock/W&M Welding/CSG, Wilson Toellner, W-K Family of Dealerships, and Wood & Huston Bank. We cannot express our gratitude that you value Economic Development enough that you partner with us to grow our community. We have so many great business partners in Sedalia and Pettis County and look forward to partnering with them for many years to come.

With the help of our sponsors, we were able to celebrate the following Company Milestones this year: Mid States Specialty Eggs (10 years), WireCo World Group Distribution Center (10), Impact Signs Awnings and Wraps (20), ArcBest (25), Lyne Plastics (25), Main Street Logo (30), PrintLynx (35), Gardner Denver (40), WireCo World Group Manufacturing (40), Pepsi Co. (80), and Heartland Coca-Cola (100). As our fearless leader, Jessica Craig stated, we know that you could have your business anywhere in the world, and you have it here in Sedalia and Pettis County, Missouri. To which we will say, that makes us feel honored that you pick small town USA to call home.

We would also like to recognize and give a huge round of applause to the Country Club of Sedalia. The Manufacturer’s Milestone Banquet was at capacity this year with 243 attendees that came out to celebrate each company celebrating a significant anniversary. The Club had experienced, calm employees that provided top notch service. We’re not sure how you managed to handle a full house so effortlessly, and make it look easy, but it did not go unrecognized. Our banquet would not have been a success without you.

State Fair Community College is no stranger to those here in the community. In between the sports that are involved here in the community to those that attend the college; all the way to our top rated, state of the art technical training and medical programs, we have the honor of having all those successes right here locally! On Thursday, we had the pleasure of having Brett Holden and Dylan Watson—two SFCC students who are members of the baseball team as well. It is a pleasure to have well rounded, respectful individuals that we can trust to pleasantly welcome and check-in attendees and do the job well. Nice job, guys!

Anthony Wilson, with Inter-State Studio, was our professional photographer for the night. We can’t say enough good things about him. He’s always on time, sets up quickly, and is ready when it’s “go time”. He was able to capture each company receiving their plaque and giving their speech. After the banquet, he also photographed the company with Rusty Kahrs, EDSPC President and Master of Ceremonies, along with Jessica Craig, Economic Development Executive Director. Another thanks goes to Nicole Cooke with The Sedalia Democrat and Randy Kirby with Town Square Media who captured the evening’s events. We enjoy a wonderful working relationship with both of you !  Your hard work does not go unnoticed.

Thank you to all who attended, all companies who sponsored, to the Country Club for hosting, Rusty Kahrs for being our Master of Ceremonies, and everyone’s hard work. It really does take a village to run a successful event, and we couldn’t do it without all the help. One last thank you to the manufacturers that celebrated a 5-year milestones.  As community members, we are so thankful that you choose Sedalia and Pettis County, and provide quality family-supporting jobs to so many people throughout our region.  From year one, to year one hundred, we thank you!
