On behalf of Economic Development Sedalia-Pettis County, thank you for your direct involvement which resulted in a  successful 16th Annual Sedalia Showcase! It was so enjoyable to come together in celebration of the businesses throughout Sedalia and Pettis County, while celebrating growth throughout our community!

Economic Development Sedalia-Pettis County would like to send a big thank you to our sponsors. Without their generosity to support our events, it would not be possible! Our sponsors include: ArcBest, Boys & Girls Club of Sedalia, B & P Excavating, Bothwell Regional Health Center, Callis, Central Bank of Sedalia, Central Missouri Electric Cooperative, Heartland Coca-Cola, County Distributing, CSC LLC, Custom Communications, Equity Bank, Evergy, Ditzfeld Transfer, Kusgen Construction, Lamy’s, Liberty, Marcum Hauling & Landscaping, MC Power, McCarthy Toyota, Pepsi, Septagon Construction, Sedalia Pettis County Community Service Corporation, Sedalia School District, Stribling, The Missouri Bank, Thompson Hills Investment Corporation, Tyson, Viebrock, Wild Life Ridge Winery, Wilson Toellner, WireCo WorldGroup, W-K Family Dealerships, and Wood & Huston Bank.

A special thanks also goes out to Heartland Coca-Cola & Subway (Eddie DeJaynes and his team) for sponsoring the Sedalia Showcase presentation and lunch at Nucor Steel Sedalia.  Our appreciation goes out to Tyson, Pepsi, County Distributing, and Wildlife Ridge Winery for sponsoring the dinner and evening festivities.

A big thank you to Ditzfeld Transfer and WireCo WorldGroup for sponsoring the Director’s Pavilion at the Missouri State Fairgrounds. There was a groundbreaking for the Director’s Pavilion in March of 2020. With the pandemic forcing us to cancel a lot of events over the last year, our showcase being one of those, the first time we were able to utilize the pavilion was the 2021 Sedalia Showcase.  We are grateful to Nucor Steel Sedalia for your incredible contribution to the Missouri State Fair in donating the building for the Director’s Pavilion.  We truly enjoyed the venue and will do so for generations to come.

An incredible thanks goes out to all the manufacturers and leading employers in Sedalia and Pettis County.  The Sedalia Showcase was created 17 years ago as a way to say thank you for the significant impact you have in our economy and in the lives of the thousands of men and women who work within your organizations.  We are appreciative of your support and involvement in the 2021 Sedalia Showcase.  Thank you for the table gifts you were able to provide.  It is always amazing the products that are made right here in our back yard!  Gifts provided this year included lanterns, glasses, chapstick, hand sanitizer, wet wipes, wallets, coozies, cups, t-shirts, notepads, pens, blankets, frisbees, stress balls, bags, lanyards, water bottles, gift cards, tumblers, toolboxes, tools, flashlights, and other miscellaneous promotional items. The companies that featured promotional items this year were: ArcBest, Bothwell Regional Health Center, Callis, Capstone Precision Group, Central Missouri Electric Cooperative, City of Sedalia, County Distributing, CSC LLC, Equity Bank, Gardner Denver, Grellner Sales and Service, Lamy’s, Marcum’s Stones and Landscaping, Maxion Wheels, MC Power, McCarthy Auto Group, Nucor Steel Sedalia, Parkhurst Manufacturing, Premier Realty Group, ProEnergy, Prysmian Group, SMC Electric, Stanley Black & Decker, Stribling, Subway, The Missouri Bank, Tyson, Viebrock, WireCo WorldGroup, W-K Family of Dealerships, and Wood & Huston Bank.

To the businesses that allowed us to tour and visit your facilities, thank you for allowing us to feature your business while getting a glimpse of the magic that occurs within your facility.   The 2021 Sedalia Showcase included the Governor’s Ham Breakfast, Nucor Steel Sedalia,  the Sedalia Early Childhood Center Ribbon Cutting, tour of Lamy’s Redevelopment, ending with our networking reception and dinner at the Director’s Pavilion to celebrate the growth, friendships, and the tremendous businesses in Sedalia and Pettis County.

As mentioned above, it is ironic that the 2021 Sedalia Showcase was first hosted in the  Director’s Pavilion which was made possible by a gracious contribution by Nucor, who was our 2021 Showcase Company. We would like to take the time to acknowledge how thankful we are that Nucor agreed to be the Showcase Company of 2021. As the largest steel producer in the United States, we are grateful that Nucor chose to build their facility in Sedalia resulting in $250M capital investment and over 200 new jobs.  At the time, this was the most significant project Missouri had landed over the entire decade.  A special thank you to General Manager, Ron Kessel, Stephanie Garrett (Controller), Amber Lockney (Purchasing Agent), Patrick Wilson (Inside Sales Representative), and all Nucor managers and teammates. Thank you, Nucor, for investing in our community, providing jobs to our hard-working citizens, and continuing to be an example of what can come from hard work!

Overall, thank you to everyone who attended the 2021 Sedalia Showcase and came together to celebrate the great impact each and every one of these businesses have in Sedalia and Pettis County.  Our community is growing and thriving because of your success!

We hope this year was as fun for those attending as it was for our team. We hope to see you at the Sedalia Showcase in 2022 on Aug. 18, 2022. Thank you all, for your support and allowing us to serve and work for you!  If we can assist you or your business in any way, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us!

Sincerely,
