A group of about 25 Pettis County manufacturing leaders and employees on Tuesday (April 18) toured BRHC as part of an ongoing focus of Economic Development Sedalia-Pettis County (EDSPC).
EDSPC specializes in helping to grow the Sedalia and Pettis County industrial base while marketing the region to companies that might be interested in moving here. One way it does that is through the Pettis County Management Association, which is made up of more than 20 manufacturing-related companies in Pettis County.
PCMA connects manufacturers through a series of company tours and networking events. These tours give their employees the opportunity to network with managers and peers in the community while learning more about local manufacturing and other businesses.
“We strive to give our members a forum to learn, have an opportunity to exchange ideas, and share common experiences,” said Jessica Craig, executive director of EDSPC. “It is also an opportunity for members to interact with one another. We are striving for the community and manufacturers to work together now and in the future to build an economic climate for long-term community growth.”
On Tuesday evening, PCMA members met at Bothwell Regional Health Center, where Bothwell CEO Jimmy Robertson discussed BRHC’s services and its economic impact on the region. Following Robertson’s presentation, group members were given a tour of key areas of the hospital.
“As a strong driver in our local and regional economy, Bothwell Regional Health Center was highlighted to showcase the professional expertise and technical capacity offered right here in Pettis County,” Craig said. “From state-of-the-art equipment to skilled physicians, BRHC is such an asset to the people who work and live in and around the Sedalia region.”
Robertson said he always likes to showcase what BRHC means to Sedalia and the region.
“I appreciate the opportunity to share with community leaders some of the many health care services we provide here at Bothwell that they might not know about, especially those services that are unique to our facilities,” he said. “As one of the largest employers in the region, it’s also important to get the word out on the importance of our hospital to the economy in Sedalia and the region.”
Bothwell Regional Health Center is a 145-bed regional health center serving west-central Missouri with state-of-the-art technology and comprehensive health and wellness services including primary care, specialty care and emergency care.
